what is nu-nrg ? Nu-Nrg has a characteristic bassline (404 bass with an offset
303 bass) that creates a 'relentless' rolling and driving tune.
The samples tend to be more melodic and flowing by comparison
with rapid sample 'stabs' in Hardhouse tunes. The samples are
very synthesised which gives it a slightly Techno feel. In summary,
it is the new unique, hard paced uplifting dancefloor stormer
that is giving the global dance scene a Wikkid alternative.
background:
Reese has been on the scene for the past 3 years,
much of this time he has spent in the company of some of the finest
DJs Cape Town has ever seen. The idea of playing has always appealed
to him but the decision was only put into action when he received
his first vinyl from a friend in the U.K. (Nicky Nix). Since then
there has been no looking back. One month later his first shipment
of vinyl arrived from London with the bulk of it being his long
awaited NU-NRG tunes. This unique and definitive sound has been
the basis of his style ever since.
